I am an archery coach with USA Archery. Last Sunday we had an achievement shoot where our kids earn awards for shooting. Some of these families have become friends on Facebook and I noticed one post that talked about the family participating in the Milk Run at our state fair. I asked the dad about it and he said their entire family likes to run together. It's something they all enjoy.
Archery can be something like that as well. It's a sport that everyone in your family can enjoy together. Our Family Archery club is like that. We have all the equipment your family will need to get started, or just to try out to see if you all like it.
I remember growing up in a family that loved camping and hiking. Every summer we took an entire month to enjoy the outdoors, all across the western US. I think it shaped us as a family, in our relationships.
I know of whole families who enjoy skiing, water sports, boating, fishing, hiking, bowling, chess, board games, card games, nerf games, etc. I believe that having a common activity that everyone loves helps to bond families together. It gives you the time to talk, to encourage each other, discover each persons unique mix of gifts.
It's never too late to begin playing together. What does your family like to do, together?
